Safety requirements in critical situations: • If the horse is running away, lean back and shorten the rein strongly working with both hands each after each. Then slower it in circle (in volts), gradually reducing its moving radius. • If the horse stands up on its hind legs ("rears up") – leave the hold of rein, grab the mane or grasp the horse's neck, make him lower down with active message. • Do not lean back or pull reins - the horse can fall on its back. • If the horse stops and hits with its front foot, lowers the head, sniffs the ground, lift its head immediately and send it forth vigorously, because it means that the horse is going to lay under the rider. • In case of falling, leave the hold of stirrups and do not leave hold of reins. If you failed to keep the reins in the hands, try to move away from the horse and not get up immediately, as the horse can kick. After the fall do not catch up the horse. Safety requirements before leaving to the track (walk): • When leaving the stables for a walk it is important to follow each other at a safe distance, do not overrun front horse in any case or approach from its side. • It is prohibited to ride with fast gaits (trot or gallop), to raise the horse on its hind legs. It is not allowed to stop abruptly or move in the opposite direction. • After leaving for a walk it is necessary to monitor horse’s behavior. To solve any problems address the instructor. Safety requirements on the track (walk): • Control the horse kindly and calmly. Do not pull the reins abruptly or strongly. It is important to remember that rein is means of control rather than support. If you feel unsure or did not saddle the horse properly, you should hold horse’s mane. • It is necessary to control the speed of the horse, so it did not bolt in gallop and you do not fall. • Do not allow the horse to bend down to the ground, as this may lead to a fall of inexperienced rider. • To maintain balance and not fall, do not let go the reins and hold on to the last on the mane, horse's neck or saddle. • If you after all can not avoid falling, try to turn in such a way to fall on your hands or on your side, but not on the back. To avoid serious injuries during the fall it is recommended to tuck: pull your knees up to the chin, legs are pressed tightly against the stomach, head is between the knees, neck is retracted into the shoulders. Curling in such position one becomes like a ball and all the most vulnerable parts of the body are protected. • If after dismounting the horse ran away, catch it carefully and approach only from the side of its head. • Do not ride at a training trot or gallop in the woods or in the field.
